take a hike!

I'm starting to get my first taste of upper 80 degree weather in almost a year. It felt a little warm to ride, and as some of you may know, my passions are far from limited to cycling. I went up on a quick mountain hike that takes you up 3000 feet in around 3 miles. The views are nice from the top, but there's no direct trail - instead one must follow faint game trails that frequently halt in the middle of brush. This is easily dealt with going up, but the descent on loose scree on a 48 degree mountain face means that your legs get cut to ribbons. So yeah, other than the bugs, and that most of the trail was a river right now, it was a nice training run for some of my summit aspirations in the upcoming months:
